A brand new video series about the Clinical Proof of Concept landscape

As part of the Clinical Proof Concept programme, the Oncode Exploratory Development Expert Support (OEDES) team has created a video series wherein they take you on an informative journey through the landscape of Clinical Proof of Concept. In this way, the OEDES team provides guidance and advice for Oncode Investigators and Researchers when it comes to translating our fundamental scientific insights into new diagnostics and therapeutic strategies.

Six brand new educational modules within the field of Clinical Proof of Concept are now available. Especially if you are looking for an introduction to clinical research, pre-clinical requirements or the development of a biomarker or biomarker assay, you will find your answers on the new page. Also, if you are interested in hearing more about Clinical Proof-of-Concept in oncology, the predictive value or how to define a Target Product Profile, have a look at these modules.

The OEDES team

As part of the Oncode approach, the OEDES team is offering extra support to the researchers in the development of their proposals. They help to define the goal of the study in relation to the overall development trajectory and can support researchers by giving them specific advice on their proposals, like pre-clinical requirements for safe and efficacious human dosing, validation strategies for new diagnostics and ways to maximize valuable results.

First patient-derived organoid model for cervical cancer
Researchers from the group of Oncode Investigator Hans Clevers (Hubrecht Institute) developed the first patient-derived organoid model for cervical cancer. They also modelled the healthy human cervix using organoids. In close collaboration with the UMC Utrecht, Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology and the Netherlands Cancer Institute, the researchers used the organoid-based platform to study sexually transmitted infections for a herpes virus. The model can potentially also be used to study the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is one of the main causes of cervical cancer.
